What does The Arya Foundation do?

The Arya Foundation provides need-based adaptive equipment to children with special needs in St. Louis.


What area does The Arya Foundation serve?

The Arya Foundation currently serves the Greater St. Louis Region.

Who can refer my child?

Your child’s case manager, social worker, school teacher, therapist, or any service provider working with your child can provide the referral. 


Why is feedback necessary?

The Arya Foundation would like to know the impact of our services on a child’s life. It is also a requirement for returning applicants.


How are payments made?

Payments will be made to the families for the adaptive equipment or the adaptive equipment will be sent directly to the families, depending on the adaptive equipment.


What value does the adaptive equipment have to be?

The value of the adaptive equipment can be any but financial assistance will be granted for up to $1000 only. The applicant is responsible for the remaining value. 


What adaptive equipment is eligible under The Arya Foundation?

Any need-based adaptive equipment including but not limited to:

  • A Stander

  • Specialized walking aids

  • Portable ramps

  • Specialized seating

  • Electronic communication aids

  • Bath; toilet seats / support

  • Specialized beds / mattresses

What is not eligible under The Arya Foundation?

The Arya Foundation does not provide:

  • Home modifications of any kind

  • Any services, programs, therapy, or camps

  • Any medical tests or Doctor fees

  • Any software or app

  • Financial assistance for adaptive equipment already purchased and paid for

  • Maintenance or on-going costs of adaptive equipment

  • Any item sold in packages of more than one


Who owns the adaptive equipment?

The foundation provides a single financial contribution per adaptive equipment and hence is not the owner of such adaptive equipment.


Will The Arya Foundation pay for maintenance of the adaptive equipment?

As the foundation provides a single financial contribution per adaptive equipment, it will not be held liable for any ongoing maintenance, repairs and replacement.


Who is liable for the adaptive equipment?

The Arya Foundation does not assume any liability for the adaptive equipment and its use.


What are the requirements to be eligible for adaptive equipment?

Applications will only be accepted from parents or legal guardians on behalf of a child who:

  • Is 18 years of age or younger

  • Requests adaptive equipment that qualifies as a valid health need

  • Has a child living in the Greater St. Louis Region

  • Is referred by a social worker or case manager

  • requests up to $1000


How many times can one apply?

Financial assistance will only be provided for one adaptive equipment per child per year


What is the application process?

The basic application process is as follows:

  1. Make sure the child is eligible to apply for the adaptive equipment

  2. Submit the necessary documents to The Arya Foundation

  3. Within 30 days, the results of the application will be sent by e-mail or mail

  4. If application is approved, a check will be mailed for the adaptive equipment to the family or the adaptive equipment will be mailed to you, depending on the adaptive equipment. The child’s story and photo may also be posted and used at any time for The Arya Foundation’s advertising if a media release form is signed


What documents are required to apply?

  • Complete Application form.

  • Letter from a physician (on letterhead) providing the necessity of the adaptive equipment including the child’s diagnosis, history of illness, the specific request for funding, and other relevant information.

  • Invoice from the provider.

  • Child’s photograph and story for our publication.


Can I apply if insurance has partially paid for the item?

Yes. The applicant can request for an item partially covered by the insurance.


Can I apply if the adaptive equipment’s value is over $1000?

The value of the adaptive equipment can be of any amount. However, The Arya Foundation will only fund up to $1000 for the purchase of the item. The applicant is responsible for the remaining value.

Where should I submit the application form?

Application form and required documents can be submitted by :

What is the processing time for an application?

Once the complete application form and the required documents are received The Arya Foundation will take up to 30 days for processing. Notification of the outcome of applications will be sent by e-mail or letter and the decision of the application is final.
