WHAT DOES THE ARYA FOUNDATION DO?

The Arya Foundation provides need-based adaptive equipment to children with special needs in the Greater St. Louis Region. Founded in 2014, we are 100% volunteer-run and over 90% of individual donations go directly to providing adaptive equipment and services.


WHAT AREA DOES THE ARYA FOUNDATION SERVE?

WHO CAN FILL OUT THE APPLICATION FORM?

Parents or legal guardians can complete the online application form to submit the request.


WHO CAN REFER MY CHILD?

Your child’s case manager, social worker, school teacher, therapist, family friend, or any service provider working with your child can provide the referral. 


HOW ARE GRANTS PROVIDED TO FAMILIES?

Adaptive Equipment or Holiday Toy will either be ordered online and shipped to the child's address, or a grant will be paid to the provider if the equipment isn't available online.


IS THERE A LIMIT ON THE GRANT PROVIDED?

There is no limit on the value of the adaptive equipment or holiday toy, but the grant is capped at **$1,000 per child per year for adaptive equipment and **$250 per chid per year for holiday toy. The applicant is responsible for any remaining cost.


WHAT ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT IS ELIGIBLE UNDER THE ARYA FOUNDATION?

Any need-based adaptive equipment including but not limited to:

  • Electronic communication aids

  • Bath support/equipment

  • Specialized beds/mattresses

  • Mobility equipment

  • Specialized walking aids

  • Portable Ramps

  • Specialized Seating

  • Or any other tool needed for child’s development

WHAT IS NOT ELIGIBLE UNDER THE ARYA FOUNDATION?

The Arya Foundation does not provide:

  • Any medical tests or Doctor fees

  • Any software or app

  • Grant for adaptive equipment/toys already purchased and paid

  • Maintenance or on-going costs of adaptive equipment

  • Programs or summer camps

  • Home modifications of any kind

  • Any services or therapies

  • Service dogs


WHO OWNS THE ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT?

The Arya Foundation provides a single financial contribution per adaptive equipment and hence is not the owner of such adaptive equipment. The Arya Foundation will also not be held liable for any ongoing maintenance, repairs, and replacement.


WHO IS LIABLE FOR THE ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT?

The Arya Foundation does not assume any liability for the adaptive equipment and its use.


CAN I APPLY IF MY CHILD HAS HEALTH INSURANCE?

Yes, you can apply even if your child has health insurance. However, the equipment you are requesting must be an out-of-pocket expense or have a letter of denial from your insurance provider.


HOW MANY TIMES CAN ONE APPLY?

A grant can be provided for one piece of adaptive equipment and one holiday toy per child, per year.


WHY IS FEEDBACK NECESSARY?

The Arya Foundation would like to know the impact of our services. This is also a requirement for returning applicants.



WHAT IS THE PROCESSING TIME FOR AN APPLICATION?

You will receive an email with the application decision within 45 days of submitting your application and all required documents.
